2024: Cultivate a Year of Business Growth

. . . . . . . . . . . .

What are your business growth plans for 2024? What are you hoping to achieve?

A new year marks a fresh chapter for individuals and businesses alike. Just as we might reflect on our well-being and set personal resolutions, it’s also a great time for businesses to undergo a similar process of reflection and strategic planning.

As an agency dedicated to supporting businesses in their marketing and PR communications, we understand the importance of creating a manageable, adaptable communications strategy that fits with your available resources and budget as well as your aspirations.

A Roadmap to Success

It’s always great to have a roadmap for the year ahead, but marketing delivery should also be an organic process. It needs to flex and evolve in sync with your personal and business goals, industry sector dynamics, and an ever-changing external environment (the bit we can’t control).

To help you kick off your 2024 with passion and purpose, we’re sharing a few journaling prompts below. We encourage you to reflect on the past year and set aspirational but realistic goals for your business growth in 2024.

Journaling for a Business Growth Orientated 2024:

      1. What worked well in your 2023 marketing approach and what struggled to gain traction? Use these insights as foundations for your 2024 marketing and communications strategy. Keep the good bits, throw out the stuff that didn’t work, or refine it, and consider test driving some new marketing ideas.
      2. What are your goals and aspirations for this year? This could encompass personal aspirations such as learning a new skill, or speaking at an event, as well as business objectives, such as increasing sales and revenue, diversifying products and services, hiring or upskilling staff.
      3. What types of clients, customers, suppliers, strategic partners, or talent do you want to attract? Think about each of these categories in detail. Having clear profiles for each will help you to call-in the right people through marketing communications that attract.
      4. How can your business help? What products, services, consultancy, or support does your business offer that will help your target audiences? How do you provide solutions that meet their challenges? Is there anything else you could be doing to meet their needs?
      5. How will you reach the right people? Which social platforms does your audience use, what media formats do they consume, what verbal and visual language will resonate with them?
      6. What assets do you require to effectively convey your business offering? Traditional marketing and advertising materials, social media, video, digital ads, website, email marketing, sales and marketing collateral, something else?
      7. Do you have these assets? If yes, evaluate their effectiveness. Are they doing a good job, or do they require updating or reinventing? Are there any missing assets crucial for communicating your business products and services to potential customers?
      8. Can your business produce and manage assets in-house? If yes, great – brief your team!
If no, identify the type of support that’s needed. Where are the skills gaps?
      9. Does your team have capacity to deliver your marketing strategy effectively? If yes, great – create a marketing communications plan! If no, identify the kind of support you need. What gaps are there in your staffing capacity, skill and resources?
